| Bio: | I culled my interests during the whole journal deletions fiasco. I haven't gotten around to putting them back yet. I know I saved them somewhere, but I seem to have lost them. Time to build from the ground up, I think. I don't really know where to go over the numerous aspects of me without a prompt, I'm a twenty-something gal living in Seattle. I have strong ties to Denver and Evergreen, CO as I use to live there until November 2007. I'm married to / the owner of I'm also very close to the Lost Girls household , specifically My Mistress is I'm an optimistic realist, a musician, a writer, a keeper of the legacy of As my as my music interests go, I find they are developing, but I haven’t been able to commit as much time as I would like towards it. I have a classical background that branched out into Jazz, where I’ve played Trombone, Bass Trombone and Bass Clarinet. I’ve had another path where I’ve been completely fascinated with the early roots of Electronica (Derbyshire, Kraftwerk, Wendy Carlos, etc.) and have a passion for synths. I’ve experimented a lot with the medium back in the 90s, but I originally abandoned it as it grew to become something rather mainstream. I have a strong history in technology, philosophy and history. I’ve had a close connection with technology since I was a wee child, but where it has gone isn’t quite what I have hoped for. I still feel we’re slaves to the devices around us and they haven’t grown to enable us in the ways that we really need as a species. I have a great understanding of the knowledge behind what makes our technology work and will probably continue to tinker with that for the rest of my life. I’ve worked with a wide spread of electronics over the years and have a love for the computer, but a greater love of artificial intelligence. Our treatment of AI reflects on us as a species. I see that we still handle our computers as tools and I hope that they can be our equals. One day, I shall return to my focus on AI and resume my experiments. A great book on this is The Adolescence of P-1. As such, I’m also an avid reader (and watcher) of Science Fiction. I have read a lot of Asimov and Heinlein and they have had an immense impact on my life. I’m also deeply interested in British Sci-Fi, such as Doctor Who and Blake’s 7. I am current on both series of Doctor Who and have been lukewarm about Torchwood (but I love Captain Jack). My parents are both Star Trek fans... I’m also a hacker of a unique sort. Perhaps even “old school” and I find I have little in common with the bulk of the current community. I’ve ended up going Macintosh after years of running Linux. It has better met my creative needs. I’m still versed and current on Windows, but that seems to be because it is more common place. My first computer ran MS-DOS 5 and didn’t even have the available version of Windows 3.0. I use to program, way back when. I never really made the Object-Oriented switch. I also have a curiosity about Psychology. I may pursue becoming a therapist in the coming years. My spiritual beliefs are still growing. I strive to be a more secular person after the pressures of being more Christian by my family. It’s impacted my view that we’re supposed to strive to be better people, but in my teens I found Buddhism more fulfilling. I have a feeling that there are many paths, but the trick is to continue walking and growing in effort to reach that destination. I seem to have found some affinity with a specific niche of vampirism. Communities I'm involved in, and my respective roles: Owner of My nerd score is 96%. It appears that the nerd test link I had died. No major loss. It emphasized that I own a slide rule and have a taste for HP RPN calculators.
